Dear Wigleaf—

Never had I watched an entire episode of Jeopardy. Until month four of quarantine. Netflix suggested it. By July I was addicted. I like to press play on an episode, minimize the screen, open a Word document, close my eyes, and type whatever scrap of language strikes me. I add my own scraps (free associating) in between moments of transcribing, especially during the part near the end where they privately write answers to the final question while the cursed jingle loops. Then the episode ends. I close my computer. The next day, I edit what's there. You should try it. You might like what you make (if you do feel free to share it with me). For example, I liked this one:

Pardy II (S19 E 2)

We're not talking
about man-made walls.

What is a rudder?
What is The Flood?
My essential advice?
Don't climb the rope.

I don't know what cold is.
But I know exactly
that feeling.

What is Pearl Harbor
What do you mean "we"?

What is self
-controlled?
No.
What is self
-contained?

This squishy sub filling might be
albacore?

What is Anti?
What is Super?

Who are the Koch brothers?
Are we talking about Twitter?

What is famine?

You're gonna hate yourself for that,
but just for a moment.

Stuff for two thousand.

That's the mountain.
Bible—four hundred.

This sign comes up often
in addictions. His name

was Jesus
Christ. What is a drop cloth?

An antonym for mourning?
Who is Eve? Her name,
inscribed on the big trophy.

Way too big—yes
—way too heavy
to carry anywhere.
